Bio

Ethan Lambrix grew up in Portage Michigan and graduated from Portage Northern High School in 2020. There, he was exposed to the world of woodworking through the shop program, where he began making cutting boards and picture frames. After working for several years after high school, he attended SBWI where he began his formal education in wood joinery and design. 

Artist Statement

I grew up exploring the natural areas of southwest Michigan and spent my summers on the lake where my grandparents built their home. I try to show this influence in my work now, through incorporating in human touch, without overshadowing the medium that I am working from. I take inspiration from the philosophy of George Nakashima and the work of Wharton Esherick.
