Program Description:

A class for women, designed by women!

Learn all about the most common power tools and make your own toolbox! Using woodworking machines without proper training can be dangerous. This course will teach you to use tools safely so you can focus on enjoying your time in the shop. Students will learn proper technique on the table saw, miter saw, jointer, planer, band saw, drill press, and with nail guns. Taught by Sheri Sarata, an accomplished lifelong teacher and graduate of the SBWI Wood Design program. She will help give you the knowledge and confidence to tackle projects all on your own.

Learning Objectives:

  • Learn all about measurements, master the tape measure

  • Learn proper technique on the table saw, miter saw, jointer, planer, band saw, drill press and with the nail gun

  • Learn basic wood shop safety

  • Upon completion, participants will take home a toolbox made during class

Attendance Requirements: Students must attend all days
