KLOÉ CAMPEAU
Class of 2024
Bio
Kloé grew up in a small town in Québec. At the age of sixteen, she moved to the United States to pursue a degree in cello performance. Having experienced an incredibly supportive artistic community in her formative years, she decided to pursue a masters in social work at the University of Michigan with the desire to give back and empower underserved youths through the arts. During her last semester of grad school, she started a small software company. After working in a field of technological abstracts and non-tangibles for the better part of a decade, she ultimately sold the company and decided to enroll at SBWI to reconnect with her tactile and artistic side.
Artist Statement
I have always had a slight obsession with design and architecture. Having now managed a few personal renovation projects, including a full-scale historic restoration in Ann Arbor, I wanted to have a better understanding of the building processes involved - from translating artistic ideas into concrete plans, to feeling empowered to do some of the work myself. This led me to SBWI, where I found yet another incredibly supportive community. Along the way, I discovered a budding love for chair making, and enrolled in classes around both the US and Europe through 2025 to hone in my technique, with the ultimate goal of making my own chair designs.
