Program Description:
Building your own kitchen cabinets can be a cost-effective way to get custom cabinets at bargain prices. Plus it is an extremely fun and rewarding pursuit. In this 5-day course, we will teach you how to build kitchen cabinets with a few tools. No need for expensive equipment.
Learning Objectives:
Students will learn how to select the appropriate materials for cabinets, size cabinets to fit your home (and how you can break those rules), and designing cabinet doors to suit your style.
Students will learn how to build face frame and frameless cabinets, layout and cut cabinet components, how to install soft close hardware and pulls, all about adjustable shelving, and different ways to stain and finish cabinets to get that perfect look
Students will learn about edge banding and how to do it in your garage with minimal tools
Students will build a base and an upper cabinet to take home
Students will have the knowledge to build their own set of kitchen or bathroom cabinets at home
Attendance Requirements: Students must attend all days
