Program Description:
Cutting boards are the perfect project for people at the front end of their woodworking journey. They are made from beautiful hardwoods and they will add a lot of character to anyone's kitchen.
In this class you will learn how to utilize most of the basic tools found in any wood shop. You'll also learn how to square wood up, proper glueing techniques, clamping techniques, sanding, and finishing. We will also teach you long term care for your hardwood cutting board.
By classes end you will have a beautiful and unique cutting board made by you, and you will be equipped with the skills to do it again.
Learning Objectives:
Participants will learn proper techniques with the following machines/equipment
table saw
router
thickness planer
We will learn proper glue technique so your cutting board will last for decades
By the end of the day, students will have successfully crafted their own beautiful handmade cutting board
Attendance Requirements: Students must attend all days
