Dave Boat #2 - Going Home

Dave Boat 2 is done and ready to go home. An advantage to using a water borne finish is the speed at which they dry. I had finished sanding on Thursday and was able to get a diluted coat of oil based urethane on the boat on Thursday and Friday.

That was dry enough by Saturday morning for me to start spraying the final coats on the boat. Three coats inside and the same on the outside sandwiched between leaf raking and football games took up all of the daylight hours yesterday with a couple hours between each coat.

I'll return boat 2 as soon as I can and pick up another boat. The best light for sanding is natural light and I want to take advantage of any good weather remaining before I get sent inside for the winter. The boats are light enough that it is easy to take them out into the yard to work. The light is better and that much less sawdust in the garage.
