Goodbye Canoe #1, Hello Canoe #2
I was able to return canoe #1 and pick up canoe #2 for completing the finish. That means more epoxy resin on the hull and lots of sanding.
I was standing in her drive with the owner of the boats when a man came walking down the sidewalk. He was my age (a geezer) and he got excited when he saw this canoe on the top of my truck. He said that he was building a canoe in his basement and it turns out that he had gotten his plans from the same place that the boats that I'm working on came from, Laughing Loon. He didn't live in the neighborhood, he just happened by as we were loading the boat. Of course we had to talk boats and also found out that he was an artist, a sculptor who works in wood and metals. I'm looking forward to having a chance to get to know him and find out what kind of stuff he works on. Small world.
